Frequently asked
questions
Everything you need to know about our devices, training courses, finance, insurance, and more. Can't find your answer? Our team is always happy to help.
Yes. All device purchases include training on how to use the device, plus a certificate for insurance purposes. Our foundation cryotherapy training also includes the CryoIQ device itself, 2 × 25g cartridges, printed marketing materials, and a full digital download pack.
We restrict our training workshops to a maximum of 8 clinicians. By keeping group sizes small, we can maximise your confidence and make sure every question gets answered individually.
Standard cryotherapy workshop purchases allow for 1 person. There is a small additional charge for a second trainee. If you need more than 2 people trained, we recommend upgrading to our in-clinic training option.
We run monthly cryotherapy training workshops at our venues in Liverpool and Brighton. Training days are typically held on a Monday.
Depending on the device purchased, other locations may be available. In-clinic training at your own premises is also available — contact us to discuss.
Yes. All Cryosthetics training workshops are CPD certified and recognised as first class by most insurance companies in the UK beauty and aesthetics industry. On completion, Cryosthetics will certify you for insurance purposes.
You can verify our CPD accreditation at cpduk.co.uk.

- CPD certificate, recognised by major UK insurers
- Printed marketing materials (leaflets + poster)
- Digital download pack with before & after images, social media content, and all training material
- Consultation sheets, client aftercare forms, and contraindication guidance
- Ongoing post-training support from our clinical team
Our training is suitable for anyone working in the beauty, aesthetic or medical sectors who wants to develop their skills and knowledge in cryotherapy. This includes beauty therapists, aesthetic nurses, clinic owners, GPs and dermatologists. No prior cryotherapy experience is required for the foundation course.
The Foundation CryoPen & Cryotherapy course covers safe, protocolled treatment of common benign lesions including skin tags, warts, verrucae, milia, cherry angiomas and pigmentation. It is designed for practitioners new to cryotherapy and includes the CryoIQ device.
The Advanced Cryotherapy Training is a medically-led course for experienced practitioners who want to expand into more complex lesion presentations, skin lesion identification, and advanced clinical techniques.
Yes. Private in-clinic training is available and is recommended if you need to train more than 2 people. This option allows the training to take place at your premises at a time that suits you. Contact our team to discuss pricing and availability.
The CryoIQ device emits a fine jet of super-cold nitrous oxide gas under high pressure, allowing you to work with millimetre precision on targeted tissue. The device destroys tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, forming ice shards and crystals which rupture the cell membrane — destroying the cell without any damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
Procedures typically last from 5 to 30 seconds, so clients are treated and out of the clinic quickly.
In beauty we cannot medically diagnose, and all training is based on safe, effective, protocolled treatment of the following benign lesions:
- Skin tags
- Warts
- Verrucae
- Milia
- Cherry angiomas
- Pigmentation / age spots
Note: The NHS no longer routinely treats these conditions, which makes cryotherapy a high-demand, high-value addition to any treatment menu.
Yes. When performed by a trained practitioner following the correct protocols, cryotherapy is extremely safe. The CryoIQ device is medically CE certified and is designed to target tissue with millimetre precision — meaning there is no collateral damage to the surrounding healthy skin.
Individual cryotherapy procedures typically last from just 5 to 30 seconds per lesion. This makes it one of the fastest and most efficient treatments you can offer — clients are often treated and out of the clinic in under 15 minutes.
After treatment the treated area typically scabs naturally and falls away over 7–14 days as the body’s healing process removes the destroyed cells. There is no scarring and clients can return to daily activities immediately after treatment.

PURAXEL is a revolutionary multi-modality skin delivery device that harnesses 2940nm Erbium fractional laser technology to create 100 uniform micro-channels per shot up to 0.2mm deep into the epidermal layer. These channels dramatically increase the absorption rate of any product or active ingredient applied to the skin — without breaking the surface.
Beyond the laser, PURAXEL has four interchangeable treatment heads: Ultrasonic (1MHz), Galvanic (ION+/−), Cryo, and RF — giving you five modalities in one device.
CooLift+ is a revolutionary 3-minute facial treatment that uses pressurised CO₂ to dramatically plump, tighten and hydrate the skin. Results are visible immediately after the very first treatment. There is no downtime, no needles, and it is suitable for all skin types.
CryoGlobes are surgical grade stainless steel globes used to deliver professional cryomicrocirculation facial massage treatments. They are chilled before use and rolled across the face to reduce puffiness, tighten pores, stimulate lymphatic drainage, and enhance product absorption.
DÉCAAR is an advanced professional skincare brand. DÉCAAR products are designed to work synergistically with Cryosthetics devices — particularly PURAXEL, where the micro-channels created by the fractional laser allow DÉCAAR peptides and actives to penetrate to depths normally only achievable by injection.
Yes. The CryoIQ cryotherapy device is medically CE certified. All devices supplied by Cryosthetics are appropriate for professional clinical use.
LipoContrast uses advanced Cryothermal technology — known as Thermal Contrast Lipolysis — to deliver rapid body contouring results. The fat tissue is positioned into a transducer and subjected to a triple thermal shock: heat → cold → heat. Approximately 33% of treated fat tissue is eliminated, with around 80% of the final result visible within 20 days.
LipoContrast can treat: waist, flanks, upper and lower abdomen, back, hips, thighs, knees, arms, double chin, and gynaecomastia. It also has a dedicated chin applicator and cellulite treatment mode.
1 to 3 sessions can be performed on a single area over 12 weeks, with an approximate interval of 4 weeks between sessions. Each session lasts approximately 60 minutes. LipoContrast is 3× faster than standard fat freezing alternatives.
No. Typical daily activities can be resumed immediately after treatment, including returning to work and exercise.
No. There are no expensive consumables or membranes required. The only product needed per treatment is standard ultrasound gel — making it an extremely cost-effective treatment to run.
